On May 16, 2026, we created something together in Ljubljana that the Slovenian WordPress community had been waiting for for a long time. The first WordCamp Slovenia successfully brought together more than 150 attendees, outstanding speakers from Slovenia and abroad, and everyone connected by the open web, technology, and the desire to share knowledge.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WordCamp Slovenia 2026<\/a> took place at MAO \u2013 Fu\u017eine Castle<\/strong><\/a>, where throughout the entire day, everything that makes WordCamp events around the world so special came together. Great talks, genuine conversations, new connections, and a sense of community that is difficult to describe until you experience it in person. The program covered a wide range of topics, from WordPress development, performance optimization, and accessibility to artificial intelligence, storytelling, and the future of the open-source community. Speakers such as Remkus de Vries<\/a>, Ivana \u0106irkovi\u0107<\/a>, Dario Jazbec Hrvatin<\/a>, Gregor Gre\u0161ak<\/a>, and many others shared practical experiences, ideas, and insights into the future of the WordPress ecosystem with the audience.<\/p>\n

A large part of the event\u2019s value, however, was not only on stage. WordCamp is, above all, about community.<\/strong> Conversations during breaks, spontaneous networking, exchanging experiences, and relaxed socializing once again showed why events like these play such an important role in the digital industry.<\/p>\n

WordCamp Slovenia was not just a conference, but proof that the Slovenian WordPress community has an incredible amount of knowledge, energy, and potential.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

WPM and WordCamp Slovenia 2026<\/h2>\n

We are especially proud that WPM<\/strong> also played an important role in organizing the first WordCamp Slovenia. Two out of the six event organizers, Ja\u0161a and Jurij, are part of our team<\/strong>, while David<\/strong>, Ina<\/strong>, and Matej<\/strong> also participated as official volunteers. Our team helped prepare the complete visual identity of the event, the website, and social media content, while also contributing to the execution of the event itself. From venue setup and location preparation to welcoming attendees at the reception desk, guiding guests, supporting speakers, and helping manage the entire program throughout the day.<\/p>\n

These things often remain behind the scenes, but that is exactly where a large part of the energy that attendees ultimately feel comes from. For us, being part of the first Slovenian WordCamp was much more than simply organizing an event. It was a project where we truly felt the power of community and people who want to create something meaningful together for the local digital space.<\/strong><\/p>\n
