On our blog, we share practical tips, inspiration, and insights from the world of WordPress, web design, development, and digital marketing. Whether you are a business owner, developer, or curious individual – you will find valuable content to help you improve your online presence and grow your brand

From 1–2 December 2025, the full WPM team, together with our projects Planet nogomet and Ticklio, attended SPORTO 2025 in Portorož. The event gave us a opportunity to learn, connect and sharpen our shared vision for innovation across sports media, technology and digital services.

Why SPORTO Mattered to Us

The SPORTO Conference is one of Europe’s most relevant gatherings for sports marketing, sponsorship and digital transformation. This year’s mix of brands, clubs, agencies, media and tech companies offered a strong pulse check on where the sports industry is moving.

Key topics stood out clearly: the rise of women’s sports, the growing importance of fan-led storytelling and the role of data, platforms and digital engagement in shaping the fan experience of the future.

Sessions That Inspired Us

Zarah Al-Kudcy of the Women’s Super League and Sophie M. Morris from the European Sponsorship Association highlighted the commercial momentum of women’s football and the impact of authentic narratives. Emil Tedeschi of Cedevita Olimpija spoke about leadership and sustainable club development. Sha Rasti of OMD EMEA explained how creativity and data merge to shape new fan expectations.

Elan showcased the power of heritage-driven innovation, while Lotte Denoo from Club Brugge presented an advanced loyalty ecosystem that builds a more connected fan community. Maher “Mark” Labban from Clio Sports shared global creative trends, and former Olympic skier Ana Drev (Snow Monkey) closed with a compelling entrepreneurial story.

What We Took Away

The conference gave us plenty of ideas we can put into practice immediately. It also sparked valuable conversations with people working at the intersection of sport, marketing, technology and media.

Being there as a full group meant a lot. Each of our business units saw clear takeaways for their own direction:

    • WPM strengthened its position as a partner that can support organisations across the entire digital spectrum, from strategy and development to content, production and long-term platform management.
    • Planet nogomet gained fresh insight into how storytelling and data shape modern football media, reinforcing our mission to be the leading, most trusted football outlet in Slovenia.
    • Ticklio identified opportunities in fan engagement, loyalty ecosystems and seamless event experiences, all areas where a ticketing platform can deliver real value to organisers and fans.

How We’re Bringing Ideas Back to WPM

The inspiration from SPORTO is already shaping our next steps. We are enhancing our service stack, expanding production capabilities and developing new formats that rely on strong video storytelling and editorial depth. This includes new work in video production and podcast development.

As a full-service digital agency, WPM can support the entire lifecycle of a project: platform development, UX design, maintenance, automated support, growth strategies and long-term operations through systems such as our onboarding, support response model and support automation. Our transparent financial model ensures this growth remains predictable and sustainable.

What’s Next

SPORTO 2025 reaffirmed that we are building in the right direction. The sports world is rapidly moving toward digital-first media, data-driven decision-making and immersive fan experiences.

Planet nogomet, Ticklio and WPM are each contributing to that future in distinct but connected ways: media, technology and full-stack digital support.

If you’re exploring a sports-related project — from content and media to ticketing, digital platforms or long-term support — WPM is ready to help.
Let’s build something meaningful together.
