WordCamp Europe is heading to Spain. From 27 to 29 May 2027, the largest WordPress event in Europe takes place in Málaga, and our CEO Jurij Oblak will be part of the team making it happen, as a member of the Sponsors Team.

We’ve always believed that the WordPress community is the platform’s biggest strength. WordCamp Europe is where that strength comes together at the biggest scale: thousands of people, one community, and an event organised entirely by volunteers who care about the open web.

  • 27 to 29 May 2027
  • FYCMA, Trade Fairs and Congress Center of Málaga, Spain
  • Up to 3,000 attendees expected
  • Three days of talks, workshops, Contributor Day and community
  • Organised by volunteers from across the European WordPress community

What the Sponsors Team Does

An event of this size wouldn’t be possible without its sponsors. The Sponsors Team works closely with WordCamp Europe’s generous sponsors to ensure an enjoyable event for everyone involved, from the first conversation about a partnership to the moment their booth opens on the venue floor and beyond.

It’s a role built on communication, organisation and care for both sides: the companies that support the event, and the attendees who benefit from that support. Jurij will help make sure sponsors feel welcome, informed and well looked after, so they can focus on what they came for, connecting with the WordPress community.

Why This One Matters to Us

This is not Jurij’s first time behind the scenes of a WordCamp. He was part of the organising team behind the first ever WordCamp Slovenia in Ljubljana, and the leader of the Website Team at WordCamp Europe 2026 in Krakow. Joining the organising team again for Málaga is a natural next step.

WordPress is at the heart of what we do at WPM. Contributing back, whether through code, events or time spent organising, is not a side activity for us. It’s where a lot of our best partnerships and ideas have come from.

The Road to Málaga Starts Now

There’s a lot of work ahead between now and May 2027, and we’re excited to be part of it. If you’re planning to attend or sponsor WordCamp Europe 2027, come say hello to Jurij. He’s always happy to talk WordPress, maintenance at scale, WooCommerce, community building, or anything else happening in the ecosystem.

See you in Málaga!
